To add to those never stopping list of Mobile VOIP providers, another company named Barblu which was already offering a mobile Voip solution, now allows contacts from Skype and Google Talk to be transferred to a Wi-Fi enabled mobile phone for free calls.
Barblu is a tiny downloadable software which sits in your mobile or on PC and allows to make free calls anywhere in the world to other Barblu software. Now we have been using PC to PC VOIP for long and we all know its like a common standard now. However imagine using a Mobile VOIP solution and you are able to call from anywhere to literally anywhere in the world.
Imagine you sitting in a cafeteria in Cali and want to call home. You dial your brother who's taking a train to office, but heck you both got a Barblu. You can reach each other as long as you both are registered members and have Barblu running on your mobile and of course you got a internet connection. Barblu supports Wi-Fi connection and best part is it works on almost all mobiles.
The website didn't mention that it works on a set of mobiles like 3G handsets etc. Barblu also offers some cool features listed below:
- free conference calling- You can have a conference call with up to 49 barablu users on their Wi-Fi enabled mobiles
- free chat- A plain vanilla chat interface..you know what i am talking about dont you?
- free video calling- You need a 3G video phone/Webcam if you are using PC
- free file sharing & transfer-would be really interesting to see how fast this works?
- free voicemail- Pretty standard these days..but a good one in any case.
- barablu Out- Just like that skyeput but low charges.
