Free Mobile Calls in Europe-A Reality?

We have been bitchin around for a while about no free mobile calls to UK and other european destinations. No one really offers free calls to mobiles in europe except for a few countries. The one always left out is UK.

There is a hope. A european company called Blyk will be launching a new Mobile VOIP service in Europe sometime this year, should be launching anytime soon. They haven't yet started offering their product but this news is confirmed and on top of it, the service will be first launched in UK. I guess that spice up the dead mobile VOIP market is UK which is currently dominated by traditional mobile operators such as T-Mobile, O2 and orange.

This would not just be an interesting service but maybe a good start at emerging mobile voip trend in european markets. UK for example has performed drastically low towards VOIP subscriptions. Hopefully things will change. Afterall the englishman knows the real value of the Pound :-) oops that reminds me of my time spent in london :-)

Moving on with the post, Blyk will be offering this service for free in lieu of advertisements. It will be like a Globe7 mobile clone. Maybe you need to watch advertisements to get credits? or maybe you listen to ads before you make a call. Not very sure since the info is not yet public. I will try find some more info about Blyk this week and post some updates. Till then lets hope free mobile calls in UK and Europe would be possible by 2007.
