South African Mobile VOIP

If you thought, south africa is old fashioned telecoms country you have probably stereo-typed just like many of us. VOIP is growing faster than traditional telecom in many developing countries and south africa is keen to be part of the VOIP revolution.

A latest startup Yeigo Mobile, is pledged to power the south african VOIP market through their Yeigo Mobile VOIP service. Yeigo is about ready and excited about their proposed launch of version 2.0. Hope it fixes some if the bugs from the version 1 and yeah, some more collaboration on the yahoo, MSN front. I covered Yeigo Mobile launch some days back.

Yiego claims to offer,

# Free mobile calls between Yeigo users anywhere in the world
# Up to 80% saving on international calls from your mobile to people not on Yeigo.
# Free and easy installation.

With the newer version, Yeigo 2.0 should be a great piece of software everyone is looking forward to.

Don't be misunderstood that Yeigo is only for south africa, It can be used anywhere in the world. I quickly checked their rates for non-yeigo destination. They are offering about $0.14 for India calls
and thats pretty competitive in the Mobile VOIP market.

I hope the south african VOIP largely benefits from this trend.
