Fring Mobile VOIP empowers Twitter

In this fast growing mobile VOIP market, every provider is trying to do something different and we are enjoying every bit of it. More and more Mobile VOIP providers started supporting latest handsets ( N95) , iPhone and even PSP. This just tells us that future is all about collaborative VOIP. Why collaboration is so important? coz it's web 2.0 , people like to have their social networking world, friends and family all in one package. Remember my post about VOIP interoperability?

It was about time that Mobile VOIP providers realise the potential of social networking and bank on it's success to push their product. The latest kid of the block was Twitter, a simple messaging system for users to tell the world what they are doing. Anyone thought they would be successful? But they did :-) and now Fring totally supports Twitter (source: Fring Blog)

People must be wondering what's so great about it. Get a API collaborate and you are done. The best part about using Fring for twittering is saving SMS cost. It's free to twitter via Fring. So if you are riding the web 2.0 train, this is a great way to save the ticket cost.

How to use this?

Just open fring on your handset –> go to ‘Settings’ –> ‘Configure services’ –> (scroll down) ‘twitter’ should be there waiting and ready to go.

Fring Blog also has a video tutorial if you are interested.
