Microsoft LifeChat ZX-6000 for Wirelsss VOIP

Microsft is all geared up to enter the VOIP market and its even targetting the voip accessories market open, which is set to grow as VOIP growth continues worldwide. Microsoft has unveiled LifeChat ZX-6000, a wireless VOIP headset.

Lifechat ZX-6000 is rip off version of Xbox-360 headset but this headset is compatible with MSN messenger. Although, the compatibility is limited. Its not very clear whether Lifechat supports other messengers such as Google talk etc or any other VOIP softphone client for that matter.

However the features available with Lifechat seem pretty good for a buy.

  • Noise-cancelling Microphone

  • Advanced speaker deliver crystal-clear audio

  • Comfortable earpiece and two adjustable earbands for a custom fit.

  • Four LEDs indicate out-of-range, battery life, charging, and connection status

Microsoft is currently lagging in the VOIP market and their Live messenger is totally underused compared to Google Talk or other VOIP clients. When the world is gearing for VOIP convergence, Microsoft is now trying to put together the whole business in a dish to server together. Hopefully their service is good enough to satisfy VOIP consumer's ever growing hunger.

I would assume that Microsoft will soon launch a dedicated VOIP functionality in their messenger and will try to push the product aggresively. Aint they loosing to Google in almost everything :-)

Lets hope Lifechat ZX-6000 VOIP headset bring life into Microsoft VOIP Communication Strategy and consumers are benefited from the competitive VOIP service and solutions market.
