Top 10 VOIP Features

During the last 6 months at VOIP Guide, I have noticed at these days VOIP Services are either getting too obvious or doesnt offer anything unique. Some of the recent VOIP startups haven't impressed me much. I don't want to take names but a average VOIP user can surely pick on them.

What these services are lacking is innovation. VOIP is no more plain telephony, everyone knows that. Skype is a household name, they made VOIP famous. Then came Vonage, Packet 8 etc to popularise the VOIP home line market and replced traditional telecom services at large. However, VOIP has now come of age, its in a phase where it needs more accessories than fuel. The growth of VOIP services is evident especially in the markets such as UK, Europe and Asia, but people will be looking at innovative VOIP service and those plain old VOIP services will loose the market share. Just look at what's happening to Skype. Its a classic example of how people move ahead and look for better options.

In my opinion, people will be looking to do more things with VOIP than what they are doing today. What are these more things, this list is my picks for that "VOIP Service".

1) VOIP & IPTV collaboration
2) Totally FREE VOIP calls (This could be Ad-based model, Audio Ads could be feasible)
3) Free Call-Forwarding facilities (for Flat charge)
4) Simple Web Based (Voice 2.0) Service
5) Freedom from PC based VOIP services. Call toll-free numbers and use VOIP service.
6) Satellite VOIP? Sounds Weird? How about Iridium likes?
7) VOIP Providers Conglomerate for Industry Standards and Colloboration.
8) VOIP Providers Interoperability. If you signup for Vonage, you should get FREE Calls to Pakcet8 etc.
9) VOIP Video Calls -Some providers already offering.
10) E911- Hope everyone get ready for this.

If you think, this list has any more features worth adding, Please drop your comments. Hope VOIP Companies can provide us better creative and innovative solutions in future.
