If you have noticed, a new VOIP company in India advertising their VOIP Phone Service in local daily. We decided to take a closer look at WorldPhone VOIP Phone service and see if they are worth your money.
WorldPhone.in is a Category "A" Internet Telephony Service Provider in India. WorldPhone claims to offer cheap international call packages through their VOIP service.
Let's quickly look at how WorldPhone VOIP service works:
1) ISD Goes Local: WorldPhone claims that they literally port ISD as a Local call for you by using a USA Virtual Number. For a Layman, it all sounds exciting but if you know a bit about VOIP, you know that getting a Free USA number is a cakewalk.
2) WorldPhone offers multiple VOIP Plans all through the USA Virtual Numbers and they are going to charge you anywhere from Rs. 750-3000 depending on the plan you chose. Take an example of a Unlimited USA/Canada plan which comes at Rs. 750.
Now, Will you pay Rs. 750 for a virtual number + USA/Canada unlimited plan??
If i was you, then NEVER. Why? Coz USA Geogrphic numbers are Free and secondly, there are many service which offer virtually unlimited calls to anywhere in USA/Canada (Mobile included). In short, You will end up paying Rs. 750 for something which is available for FREE.
4) WorldPhone claims they offer RS. 199 plan to talk unlimited to other WorldPhone Users. Gosh, SIP to SIP is Free, again waste of money.
5) On top of it, Worldphone will also charge you additional fee of Rs. 5000 per month.
Considering it's all Virtual Number based VOIP service, its definately not recommended to suscribe to WorldPhone.
