Google Voice to Buy RingPlus?

There are rumours that Google Voice is looking at Ring Plus to extend its VOIP services. Although these are clearly rumours at this stage. Lets analyse why Google Voice would be interested in Free VOIP Provider like Ringplus.

RingPlus is a Free VOIP provider from USA allowing to make free international calls to lot of destinations worldwide. RingPlus manages to run their service using a Advertisement Platform which runs Ads before placing a call. They replace your ringtone with Ads. That means each call is monetized by RingPlus.

Google Voice might be interested in taking over Ring Plus for its Ad platform and the overall infrastructure they maintain. Obviously taking over the Ringplus user base which surely runs into thousands of users daily.

If this rumour is true then, Google Voice might be looking at Voice based Ad platform to be introduced in each Google Voice incoming or outgoing calls. This would be a great opportunity for Advertisers to reach audience and for Google Voice to monetize their resources effectively.

Lets see how this story develops in the coming weeks or months. We will keep a watch on Google Voice.
