SIPGate One VOIP Phone Service Review

After Google Voice entering the VOIP market, another VOIP Provider SIPGate rolled out a new VOIP Phone Service. This could possibly hurt Skype's business model. Lets see what SIPGate has to offer.

SIPGate launched a new VOIP Phone service called SIPGate One. All you need is a broadband service and normal phone handset. No monthly charges, no set up fees and no monthly minimum.

In fact SIPGate has so much to offer, Google Voice and Skype really need to rethink their business model. I strongly believe Google Voice will come out with something similar in next few days.

Lets look some features of SIPGate One VOIP Phone Service:

1) Free USA Number: Just like Google Voice, SIPGate will offer One universal number for all your phones. You get a real geographic phone number which can be called from any phone worldwide and there are no charges for receiving calls on this number.

2) Free fax & free voicemail: You can send Fax and receive voicemails for FREE. SIPGate is truly revolutionised the way you would send a FAX with easy to use templates and WYSIWYG interface. Fax service requires an additional phone number at $2.50 per month as a phone number cannot double for calls and faxes. Voicemail is also included in your free sipgate one account. you can forward your calls to voicemail as and when you wish through their online interface.

3) works on real phones: Throw away costly VOIP Phones and SIP Phones, sipgate lets you manage all your phones - home phones, work phones, mobile phones. You can set up all your different phones on the account and all your phones ring at the same time just like good old grandcentral/Google Voice.

4) Communication Center: The heart and Brain of SIPGate One service. This sleek web interface blows you away with some great features. Google Voice, you got some real competition here.

5) Sign up for free and receive 200 free minutes during the first month of service.

6) Recording calls or parts of a call

7) Morph your Call ID: Even if you call from your mobile phone, if you set office phone as Caller ID, it will send that caller id to caller :-)

8) Making calls using SIPGate is however not FREE. You need to pay 1.9ct per minute to make Calls to the U.S. and Canada

9) The list is never ending as they offer Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, Transfer, Three-Way Calling and more

If you couldn't make it to Google Voice, don't loose hopes try registering for SIPGate. For people outside USA, use a proxy to register.

Jajah VOIP launched Go Jajah Service

Jajah has quietly launched another product in the VOIP market which use a local number to make international calls. After taking over Yahoo Voice, Jajah is on the roll.

Jajah recently completes 1 billionth call on their network (Jajah + Yahoo Voice) which is really an achievement for a VOIP Provider initially launched itself as Free VOIP Provider.

VOIP Provider Jajah has launched Go Jajah service in Italy. This new service is developed with local provider Funambol which can automatically update a mobile phone address book, creating a local number for each international number. When this number is dialled, the call is connected automatically.

Funambol is managing this VOIP sync software which syncs the international numbers in the mobile phone address book with local numbers and prevents duplicate entries.

MetroPCS.com VOIP Phone Service Unlimited International Calls Review

We have been long hunting for a VOIP service provider offering unlimited international calls to India. Finally we found MetroPCS, but is MetroPcs worth your money? Read our MetroPCS Review before you signup.

MetroPCS is a prepaid cell phone carrier based in Dallas,Texas and now its also offering a unlimited Phone Service and offers unlimited international call package to call over 100 countries for $5 only. Well, don't get lured by $5 offer, you need to be an existing MetroPCS phone customer in order to qualify for this unlimited calling package.

MetroPCS offers an unlimited national calling plan that costs $40, $45, or $50 a month. If you are one of the AT&T customers you might end up paying $3.99 for a cheap international call package, however MetroPCS will allow you to make unlimited international calls for $5 when you have one of their national calling plan.

Its obvious that this offer is only valid for USA customers. As one of the reader noted, MetroPCS was extremely successful with their Unlimited Calls to Mexico plan and now wants to go a step beyond and offers unlimited calls to the world.

The good things, you can make calls to 100 countries which includes India, Bangladesh and many more.

Now considering that you will end up taking the lowest MetroPCS Phone plan, it will cost you roughly $45 ($40 + $5) per month and will give you unlimited international plan.

Please note that Unlimited International Calling feature is free for the first month for new subscribers choosing the $40 Rate Plan or greater.

How can i signup for MetroPCS:

You need to visit a local MetroPCS Store in USA or by calling MetroPCS Customer Service at 1.888.8metro8 (1.888.863.8768).

Is there any limit on unlimited calling package? Whats the Fair Usage Policy?

Surprisingly MetroPCS doesn't mention anything about Fair Usage Policy. One of the existing customer might comment on this or you can call them before signing up. Most companies have FUP in place which restricts customers to go beyond a certain call minutes in unlimited call package.

Do you suggest to Signup for MetroPCS?
I believe its a good deal unless there is no limit on calls. Considering that you can call upto 10000 minutes to a certain destination, Lets say India. It works out to $45/10000=0.45 cents which works out cheaper than any betamax VOIP Provider like jumblo or actionvoip. On top of that you get national local and long distance unlimited calls included in the package. This can't get any better. However please verify on the number of minutes you can talk per month.

If you are an existing MetroPCS customers, do let us know your review/feedback on MetroPCS unlimited international calling package.

Wcell.com Mobile VOIP service offers cheap international calls

Another mobile VOIP service has joined the ever growing mobile VOIP market. Can Wcell do any different to mobile voip model with some really cheap international calls to India and other countries. Lets look at what Wcell.com VOIP service can offer us.

If you look at Mobile VOIP companies, you would most likely to talk about truphone, Tringme or defi Mobile or maybe few others. They are all pretty cool when it comes to their Mobile VOIP applications however most of them offer ridiculously high international calling rates forcing us to use them as Mobile VOIP Clients (in-service calls) instead of a outbound VOIP service.

Wcell might be able to break into this market with some really cheap international calling rates for Mobile VOIP. They offers 2-3 cents per minute to India depending on locations. Some extremely costly countries such as Indonesia comes in at a sweet deal of 3-4 cents per minute.

You can use Wcellon your PC or mobile phone. Let me clarify, for mobile phone version Wcell will work only on GPRS/EDGE/Wi-Fi/3G enabled mobile phone and secondly you need to connect to 3g/Wifi, am ruling out GPRS even though its supported but GPRS gives really poor voice quality. Honestly, if you don't have 3g unlimited plan, always go for Wifi. In most cases, its FREE or very cheap.

You can try Wcell at as low as $10, thats their minimum credit top-up. The pulse rate is 1 minute that means you are billed at per minute basis. The good thing is you can pay via paypal or credit card.

You can download Wcell and start making cheap international calls.

If you start using Wcell, do let us know your feedback/comments.

Google Voice VOIP Service opening today

google voice
Get Ready for Google Voice,a VOIP Service which can blow away many competitors by its sheer brand name is all set to go public today.

As we predicted a few days back that Google has bought over 1 million numbers, obviously there is a reason to it and we clearly predicted that Google Voice VOIP service will launch this june and it seems that we are getting clear indications that its happening today.

The news first broke on Twitter and it says Google Voice will begin sending out invitations to users as of today. If you are one of the users who submitted google voice invitation form you might just get lucky today or soon.

Apparently Google Voice team showed up at NBC show today morning, checkout the video:

As NBC noted, Google Voice will make things difficult for some VOIP Providers but at the same time, It will create opportunities for other VOIP/SIP Providers to start working with Google Voice as a partner service or intergrate google voice into their own phone service like Ooma Google Voice intregration.

I hope most of you manage to get the google voice invitations today and can enjoy this VOIP service.

Cisco Linksys SPA 3102 VOIP Gateway Configuration Setup Guide

Linksys Sipura SPA-3000 is replaced with SPA 3102. This Voip gateway can change you use VOIP to make calls. It can let you connect VOIP and PSTN seamlessly and hijack into PSTN network. Lets look at SPA 3102 Configuration Guide.

Sipura SPA-3102 is a VOIP Gateway/Adapter. It supports RJ-11 POTS and FXS port to connect an existing analog phone or fax machine. SPA3102 also supports one PSTN FXO port to connect to a Telephone or PBX and includes 2 100BaseT RJ-45 Ethernet interfaces to connect to your LAN.

Many of novice users would be confused while setting up a Cisco Linksys SPA 3102 VOIP Gateway, primarily because it can be used in 3 different ways. You can simply use it as a VOIP adapter, so just plug=in a normal telephone line and use it as SIP Phone. You can create a local access number line from Spa 3102 or you can configure both local access number and VOIP line at once.

Why would you use a SPA 3102?

SPA 3102 is specially designed for power users or small businesses who can link their VOIP and PSTN lines and use it from anywhere in the world. Just imagine, you have SPA 3102 in Indian office connected to local PSTN line and you are based in USA. You can connect to your VOIP gateway over internet and gain access to the local phone connected to your SPA 3102. Now you can make calls using that phone from usa. That means you literally hijacked your indian phone from USA and now can make local calls in India. You only pay for the local calling charges.

Disclaimer: Please note use of SPA 3102 is illegal in India and I strongly advice you not to use it or use it at your own risk. This example is only for illustration purpose.

You can obviously use this in other part of the world legally and it's one heck of a VOIP gateway.

Let's look at SPA-3102 Configuration: Inphonex.com provides an excellent writeup on setting up SPA 3102. You may alternatively download official Cisco SPA 3102 Manual

You can buy SPA 3102 from $79 onwards. Amazon also has a SPA 302 Small Business PRO VOIP gateway for $179 with added features for small business owners.

PBXes.com Virtual PBX Service adds Video Phone Feature

PBXes is a great free virtual PBX service I personally use. PBXes however also offer a premium and pro version which are great for small and large businesses. They just annouched that they added video calling functionality to premium and pro accounts which makes it even more interesting.

If you like playing around with call forwarding and PBX like feature but can't afford to host a PBX yourself, you need a hosted virtual PBX service. Most of these hosted PBX services ain't free but Pbxes is indeed free for Up to 2 voice channels and works for POTS phones/mobiles.

Now if you happen to use a Pbxes premium or pro account, then you can now enjoy video phone calling. Pbxes introduced a new feature which allows the other parties to see you if you have a video phone. The viewer does not necessarily need such a device. He can even be on the PSTN!

How do i enabled video calling in Pbxes.com?

To get the update click "Submit & Start" in "Personal Data". Create a webcall page for your video phone. Go to extensions and add an URL. Now the person you are talking to can open that URL pbxes.org/anythinghere on demand. When clicking the photo Realplayer will open and show a live video stream.

Even if you do not wish to use Video Phone functionality, having a pbxes free account can't be wasted.

Ooma VOIP Phone Service raises $14 million

Ooma a popular VOIP Phone Service from USA is still managed to grab some VC's funds as they get more funding to expand the business.

If you still don't know about ooma voip service then you better read our ooma review

Ooma is based in Palo Alto and offers a home phone service which lets you make free long distance calls across USA. It costs only $212.99 on Amazon (Ooma official delivery partnet).

What's the difference between ooma and your regular home phone service. You don't have to pay monthly bills with ooma ever again. For ooma hub, you just need to pay for the VOIP phone and then the service is free. No monthly bills again.

Ooma when first launched received mixed reviews, primarily coz people wasn't too sure how ooma voip phone would work. However, ooma was able to sustain with low cost price model and mouth publicity. Its not hugely popular amongst americans but VC's believe ooma can one day get a fair share of the home phone market in USA.

Ooma managed to raise another $14 million, bringing its total funding to date to about $56 million. The funding was led by existing investor Worldview Technology Partners of San Mateo.

Ooma will now focus on more value added services to improve revenues. Let's see how ooma manages to hold on this highly competitive VOIP Phone service market.

If you still don't have Ooma, we strongly suggest you get one today! Its worth having a ooma hub irrespective of your existing home phone service.

Ring2Skype.com Free skypein Incoming Phone number

skypein
Do you have a skypein incoming number than rings your skype VOIP softphone? No? don't worry! You can now get a free incoming number for your Skype Phone from over 40 countries. Grab one Today!

Ring2Skype is a new skype incoming number porting service which lets you get a free incoming number for skype. You can use this incoming number for skype softphone or your skype phone. As you are very well aware, SkypeIn offer a incoming phone number in only 20 countries but you need to buy those numbers. Ring2Skype is free and it gives away these numbers in over 40 countries, which is really cool.

Why do I need a skype incoming number when i am using Skype?

Imagine a friend who lives in United States and you live in UK. He doesn't have skype but want to call you. Now if you have a ring2skype USA incoming number you can give that number to your friend. Rather than calling you from USA to UK which is costly, he can call you on your US number which is way cheaper or even free at times.

Remeber that to receive calls on your Ring2Skype number, You must ensure that your computer is on and Skype is running in order for the call to come through. alternatively, if you are using a Skype Phone it needs to be connected and online.

One more awesome feature of ring2skype is you can register as many numbers as you want for one skype userid, that means you can get USA/UK/Canada numbers for your skypeid. We strongly suggest you reserve these numbers, they really come in handy.

Update: It seems their registration page is broken and it doesn't let you register. I hope they can fix this ASAP.

dialsimple.com VOIP Service adopts Ad Model

dial simple
Dial Simple VOIP based Phone Service is trying their hands at advertisement based revenue generation by giving away free calls credits.

If you are a dialsimple.com customer, you might have noticed that they are now offering call credit rewards program. This program basically asks you to complete a few offers and get free call credit to make free international calls.

However, Is it worth the time and effort? DialSimple VOIP service offers 4.9 cents per minute to India and during promotional period 2.5 cents per minute. This promotional calling rate applied for first month of your calling credit purchase.

When we look at those offers to get free call credit, it really wasn't worth it. A few downloadable programs and some crazy offers which you really not interested in. I believe its just a waste of time to get 5 cent of credit. You are probably better of getting no free call credit.

DialSimple also offers some free trial calls so you might just want to try it out.

If you are using dialsimple, do let us know your feedback/comment. Please do not post your dial simple gift codes in comments :-)

Google Voice VOIP Service grabbed 1 million US Phone Numbers

Google Voice Logo
Grandcentral became google.com/voice a few months back and there are thousands of americans enjoying this great VOIP Call forwarding and Phone Service under Google Voice.

Google Voice wasn't in the news for a while and people thought they are just going to shy away from the VOIP Phone Service market. Wrong! Google Voice Team was busy getting over 1 million phone numbers reserved for Google Voice users. All numbers will be geographic and are reserved with Level 3.

As most of your already know, Google Voice is the old Grandcentral which lets you make use a single phone number for multiple numbers by porting through their platform. When called it rings back to you.

Google Voice added a lot of interesting features such as call tranfer, call conferencing, Call Routing, Call Switch and of course, kept the free calls to USA service alive.

There are strong rumours in the VOIP community that Google Voice might open for everyone in June. That could be the reasons Google Voice bought these 1 million phone numbers for this launch.

Let's hope everyone can use this fantastic VOIP service. Google Voice will help VOIP Guide users in a great way. Routing our calls and hacking into SIP via google voice would be extremely easy.

There is also a strong possibility that Google might adapt a Paid model for heavy users or corporate customers.

Have you been using Google Voice VOIP Service, do let us know your feedback.

Witel.com Wifi VOIP free international calls Review

Ever dreamed about making free international calls while driving or walking on the street. Your dream might just come true with Witel, Wifi based free international calls provider. However is is worth it?

We already know Wifi based mobile VOIP providers like truphone,Defi Mobile offer a similar free international calls package. So what's so great about Witel.

Witel will route your calls over Wi-Fi networks. This means you can be located anywhere in the world and use the Witel service. All that’s required is a Witel phone and to be within the vicinity of a Wi-Fi network. No Computer or dedicated internet connection is needed. We believe getting a wifi connectivity in advance countries is not an issue but Indian subcontinent and most of africa is lagging behind on the Wifi scene.

Witel developed a mobile VOIP phone called the “Jetter”. This Wifi VOIP hone lets you make and receive calls using any available Wi-Fi network. Using the Jetter is simple – just turn it on and enter your Witel phone number and password, and it will automatically begin sniffing for Wi-Fi networks. Once you’re on a network the phone is ready to be used. The Jetter phone cost $59.99 (one time cost).

Each Witel subscriber is assigned a unique 7 digit Witel Virtual Number and 10 digit phone number that can be chosen from over 20 different countries, this a geographic number where anyone from normal PSTN/Mobile phone can call you on this number irrespective of where you are.

Witel offers two calling plans priced at $9.99/mo and $19.99/mo respectively.

1) Free Global Witel to Witel calls- Call any subscriber of witel for free anywhere in the world.

2) Free Global Incoming Calls - Get incoming calls for free.

Besides that, witel offers some standard value added features likes voicemail, international call forwarding, global directory assistance.

Now I personally believe there is a alternative free solution already available in the market. Take our good old mobile VOIP software Fring or Nimbuzz. Just intall it on your mobile and you are good to anywhere in the world. Secondly, you can switch to other VOIP Providers if you want to make calls to PSTN/Mobile phones, similarly you can port a incoming number via SIP to get incoming calls.

Witel in my opinion wanted to get the market share of people who are totally novice about the mobile VOIP scene. A mobile VOIP user would shy away from Witel unless they offers outgoing calls to PSTN/Mobile at reasonable rates.

If you are a Witel customer, do let us know your review/feedback.

Actiondial.com UAE based VPN secured VOIP Service

actiondial
We recently discussed about etislat/ISPs blocking VOIP in UAE and today we are discussing a good solution to overcome this. A new UAE based VOIP Provider Actiondial seems to be offering a secure VPN based VOIP solution to make cheap international calls.

Etislat and many other ISP's in UAE region are always against VOIP usage and that forces many users to switch to VPN based VOIP. Hotspotshield, kongshare works for some but its still not reliable. I believe actiondial.com thought the same while designing this new VOIP solution.

According to the information I received, actiondial is offering 1.5 cents per minute to call India. Unfortunately their calling rates page is only available for registered users, so you need register first and then check rates. They advertise as 2.5 cents per minute to India but running a promotion for 1.5 cents per minute, don't know how long will this last.

Actiondial offers 2 options to overcome the UAE VOIP Block,

1) Actiondial Broadband 2 Port Voice Gateway: You must have bought over $500 worth of calling credit then they offer you this device for free.

-Plug and play
-Built-in VPN
-Ideal for blocked environments

2) Actiondial VPN Dialer-SIP Softphone: This a free SIP based softphone dialer with in built VPN. This should overcome your issues while using this in UAE.

Of course, the easiest option to test this new actiondial service is by using their VPN dialer.

A few thing you must consider before you signup for actiondial.

1) Actiondial seems more like a reseller/spin-off service using the betamax as backbone. Most likely build off actionvoip platform.
2) Its not a betamax service, it's based in UAE (I can't disclose the name of the person for security reasons)
3) No SIP settings found on their website. Although you do get response when pinging sip.actiondial.com

Pinging sip.actiondial.com [208.43.87.196] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 208.43.87.196: bytes=32 time=220ms TTL=111
Reply from 208.43.87.196: bytes=32 time=219ms TTL=111
Reply from 208.43.87.196: bytes=32 time=219ms TTL=111
Reply from 208.43.87.196: bytes=32 time=220ms TTL=111

4) Go slow while purchasing credits. Only buy few dollars and test the VOIP service before going all out to buy more.

Let us know if you are using actiondial and hows the overall voice quality/prices etc.

Actionvoip.com raised VOIP Calling rates for India

It finally happened. Popular betamax VOIP service actionvoip.com has finally raised their calling rate for India.

actionvoip and smartvoip were 2 cheapest VOIP Providers to call India and from today, Users are reporting that actionvoip is charging them 0.2 eurocents more to call India. Actinvoip.com has increased landline rates from 0.7 eurocent to 0.9 eurocent per min to India.

Now we are wondering if you are still going to use actionvoip? Actionvoip till date has received good customer feedback and reviews for good VOIP quality. The only thing uncertain about betamax VOIP services is the price, which keeps on going up every quarter.

We wanna know if you would still use actionvoip, let us know under comments.

tuitalk.com reduces free international call minutes

Tuitalk.com free international calls/VOIP service was a huge hit lately when we wrote a tuitalk review. However, things have changed since then.

A lot of tuitalk users are reporting that the free international call service is now limiting users who are making calls to certain destinations such as India. Tuitalk was offer free calls to india and users reported that they were able to make upto 10 mins of call.

However, since today tuitalk.com is not allowing any more than 3 minutes of free calls to india. We would also like to know if they have imposed this calling limit across the board to other countries or only to India.

Let us know what you think! Take a pick at the poll.

Bezecom.com VOIP Phone Service Review

If you have noticed, almost every second VOIP Provider or Mobile VOIP services is from Isreal. That leaves us to think are they all good? Do they provide a quality VOIP service? Lets look at Bezecom VOIP Phone service and analyse what they can offer us.

Bezecom mainly offer a unlimited calling package to over 22 countries which includes a incoming and outgoing calls. The Incoming calls can be received on a bezecom number which they provide a direct incoming number in Israel, USA or UK which rings on your own phone. If you have read our guide on Free Incoming Numbers, you know its not too difficult to get one for FREE.

When you first visit Bezecom VOIP service, you get a feeling that its a free international calls service. Hang on! It's not not a single call is free.

Bezecom offers three packages:

1) Basic Unlimited:
$19.99/Month
Unlimited incoming & outgoing calls to 5 countries
Calls to Israeli Cellular phones for 9.9c per minute.
People can call you on your number from over 50 countries via a local call.

Review: Not worth it! Why would i Pay $19.99 for calling 5 countries FREE? When I get over 40 countries free with many betamax service with $5 top-up. Besides, the local call feature it doesn't have anything.

2) Global Unlimited:
$29.99/month
Unlimited calls to 22 countries.
Calls to Israeli Cellular phones for 9.9c per minute.
People can call you on your number from over 50 countries via a local call.

Review: Again useless, When VOIP providers like DefiMobile can offer excellent unlimited VOIP service and more countries for a little extra dollars.

3) Incoming Call Unlimited:
$8.99 per month
Unlimited Incoming calls to USA & Canada
People can call you on your number from over 50 countries via a local call.

Review: Again besides the local call option this gotta be a joke. Why on earth would i pay $9 for a incoming call service?

Bezecom also offers its service via access numbers. Bezecom is currently running a promotion on premium packages. When you buy one of the above package, you get FREE 150 minutes to call Israeli cellular phones.

In our opinion, If you are not too desperate to pay this isreali VOIP Provider, you may try your luck with other isreali VOIP Providers who offers free international calls like Poketalk

OoVoo Web Video Conferencing relases Mac Version

Web Video conferencing market is on the rise in United states, primarily used to save cost on travelling. When you can do a video conference call, why travel? OoVoo is one of the leading free web video conferencing software.

We discussed about OoVoo a few months back as a promising new video conferencing service.

Oovoo announced the release of ooVoo 2.1 for Mac version. Oovoo is a free video conferencing solution but it also has a paid low cost conference service which you can use for $8 to upto $18 per month which basically allows you to talk to more conference call participants.

The paid OoVoo account mainly gives you HD Video conferencing. Just to add, the free video conferencing service is supported with Ads.

Besides, the Oovoo Mac Version, Oovoo also launched Web Call feature for people who don't have the piece of software installed on their machine. You can create a callme button and send to your friends who don't have OoVoo installed so they can still make calls to you.

HD Video conferencing is the next big thing in web conferencing as more and more conferencing calling companies adopting to this change. Cheap bandwidth and faster streaming speed can make HD video conferencing a breeze.

Jaxtr.com VOIP is sold to SabSeBolo Conference Calling Service

Jaxtr, one of the earliest free voip service has been officially sold to SabseBolo web conference service. Sabse Technologies is owned by Sabeer Bhatia. Can you continue to use Jaxtr free voip service? Read on.

Jaxtr was struggling like many other free voip providers such as Jangl, Talkster. However was able to sustain with VC's money and strong userbase. It was definately not a long term business model for Jaxtr to provide free voip service with such a revenue model.

According to the deal, Jaxtr.com will continue to operate under its ownbrand name and SabseBolo Web Conference Service will maintain and expand the Jaxtr services. Jaxtr claims that they have 10 million userbase around the world, however I wanna know how many of them are actual users?

In Web 2.0, VC's should start asking about real valuations of the VOIP Providers. You may have 50 million userbase but only have 1 million active users, who can be targeted for monetisation.

Why SabeseBolo is interested in Jaxtr VOIP when they offer conference calling service and not VOIP. Sabse Technologies, based in Mountain View has developed an application in the TAAS (Telephony Applications as a Service) space coupled with a web based API (application programming interface) that allows development for telephony applications. SabSe's customers include AirTel, Tata and Celcom. It seems Sabsebolo would most likely expand Jaxtr to a business VOIP Model and most likely to drop the Free VOIP idea or could turn to heavily advertised VOIP.

Users like us can only expect that Jaxtr improves their free voip service and if possible, connect seamlessly to Sabsebolo.com Web Conference Service so users can enjoy the best of both.

Jumblo.com offers cheap international calls

Betamax and Delmont Sarl are launching new VOIP services almost every week. We recently reviewed MyyVoipTraffic and today we look at Jumblo.

Jumblo is a VOIP Service by Dellmont Sarl which we strongly believe a part of Betmax Group. If you notice lately, all new VOIP services from European region are by Dellmont Sarl but Betamax officially didn't launch a single VOIP service in last 3-4 months? Is it even possible? Anyways, we had enough discussion on this already,so lets move on and review jumblo.com

Jumblo mainly offers free international calls to certain destinations (mainly Austria,Belgium,Canada,Hungary,Ireland,Panama,Puerto rico, Malaysia) and cheap international calls to many other destinations.

Jumblo also offer free trial calls only to free international call destinations. The free trial call last only upto 3 minutes. Jumblo's FUP-Fair Usage Policy doesn't mention any limit on free international calls included in your credit or any certain days limit like we used to have 180 or 300 calls per week with other betamax providers.

How to make cheap international calls with Jumblo?

Jumblo offer following ways to make calls.
1) Phone to Phone
2) Pc to Phone using their Jumblo Softphone which you can download from here.
3) Local Access Number: Dial a local number in your country and then connect your call.
4) Jumblo SIP: Jumblo also offers full SIP support.

Jumblo SIP Settings:

SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.jumblo.com
Proxy server : sip.jumblo.com
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your Jumblo username

G.726 (32 kbps)
G.729 (8 kbps)
G.723 (5.3 & 6.3 kbps)

Cheap Calls to Indonesia

Indonesia has always been one of the costliest destinations, but it seems VOIP and Calling Card Companies are all set to make it one of the cheapest destionations to call in Asia. Cheap Calls to Indonesia are now possible with Freecall.com

FreeCall has slashed Indonesia calling rates to a mere 1.5 cents per minute to mobile and SmartVoip is already offering 1.5 cents per minute to indonesia mobile and landline. That means, Indonesia can't be categorised as a costly destination to call anymore.

However making cheap calls to Indonesia is still not possible without Betamax. Unfortunately, most calling card companies still offer about 6-15 cents per minute to make calls to indonesia. Let's just hope that betamax VOIP services can change this forever.

There are literally millions of people who call Indonesia and this new cheap calling rate can save them a lot of money. If you are using one of the costly calling card services, it time to switch to VOIP and enjoy extremely cheap calls to indonesia

budgetsip.fr offers cheap VOIP International Calls

Today we looked at Voiplip a new betamax VOIP service under Dellmont Sarl VOIP business and it seems they are on the roll with new VOIP services like budgetsip.fr.

budgetsip.fr looks like a Betamax/Dellmont Sarl outfit but i wasn't able to find About Us page for budgetsip. Let's assume its a part of the big betamax VOIP business.

budetsip.fr seems to just another VOIP service to get some users on the board, however it does offer some competitive calling rates to destinations such as India. If you call india using budgetsip you would be charged only 1.2 cents for landline and 1.4 cents for mobile. Probably not the cheapest VOIP Provider to call india but not a bad deal either.

Betamax always throw around superdeals across their VOIP services to basically force you to signup under most of them. Each account you own with betamax will force you to buy atleast $5 calling credit, this is their business plan and that's how they make money. If they had to really provide you a quality VOIP service, they would have given all the goodies, VOIP service quality, customer service under one single VOIP Provider.

BudgetSip also supports SIP which is fast becoming the preferred standard for VOIP. In a few years, people would stop using VOIP Providers who shy away from giving their SIP details.

BudgetSip SIP details:

SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.budgetsip.com
Proxy server : sip.budgetsip.com
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your budgetsip username
Password : your budgetsip password
Display name/number : your sipusername or sipnumber
Stunserver (option) : stun.budgetsip.com

We are not sure how long BudetSip.fr is into service. If you have been using BudetSip do let us know your feedback/comments on budgetsip.fr

Voiplip.com Betamax VOIP Service Launched

Is it possible for betamax to stay quiet in VOIP Market? Never, Betamax is on the roll with DellMont Sarl and launched a new French VOIP Service Voiplip.

Voiplip is a french VOIP service. Why we call it a french VOIP Provider? coz their website is in french and there isn't an option to switch to english language :-)

VoipLip only offers calling rates in Euro which are competitive compared to other Betamax services such as actionvoip, voipcheap or smartvoip.

Voiplip offers around 1.4 to 1.8 eurocents to call India Landline and Mobile respectively which is definately not the cheapest however compared to other mainstream VOIP Providers, its a good deal. There are also a bunch of countries you can make totally free international calls with Voiplip

You can download Voiplip softphone from here.

Voiplip offers full SIP support. Please note Voiplip.com SIP Details

reliablecalling.com Reliable Calling Card VOIP Review

If you are ready to signup for Reliable Calling Cards. STOP! Don't Signup before you read our Reliable Calling Card Review.

Making Cheap Calls to India is no more a dream, With betamax already breaking the 1 cent pyschological barrier for calls to India. Many other VOIP Providers and Calling Card services are trying to match the calling rates.

Reliable Calling is one such Provider who is now offering only 1 cent per minute to India from USA when you use a Local Access number in USA.

a few things you must know about Reliable Calling before you jump all over them.

1) Reliable Calling is a USA based VOIP/Cheap International Calls Provider.
2) Reliable Calling offers their cheap calls service in USA, Canada,UK,New Zealand and Australia only.
3) 1 cent per minute is a special offer only available under Monthly Calling Plan. When you signup for a Monthly plan you need to pay 9.99 which includes rental charges of $4.99, for the remaining $ 5, you get 500 mins at 1cent/min using local access number and 217 mins using Toll Free access number. That means, you can only use $5 with this plan. Effective calling rate is about 2 cent per minute.. Any talk time value left after expiry of validity will be automatically forfeited.
4) Reliable Calling Fortnight plan is even worse with $7.99 which includes rental charges of $4.49, for the remaining $ 3.5, you get 350 mins at 1cent/min using local access number and 175 mins using Toll Free access number. Really doesn't make any sense why they even have this plan in place?
5) Under the general plan, they offer 3.5 cents per minute to India which is way too costly.

I know a lot of people jumping all over this new VOIP Provider/Calling Card provider after looking at 1 cent advertisement. Many other VOIP websites/blogs gave wrong information about this entire offer and people are now in trouble.

Personally, I believe Reliable Calling is not cheaper at all and I stay away rom someone who charges me a monthly flat fee for using their VOIP service.

When we have VOIP services such as actionvoip, smartvoip or even localphone, why would we bother about Reliable Calling Cards?

If you are a existing customer of Reliable Calling, we want to hear from you Please give your reliable calling card review and comments on their quality of service.

Ban on VOIP in Germany Lifted

T-mobile/Deutsche Telekom ban on VOIP in Germany was started in April 2009 making it extremely tough for Mobile VOIP providers such as Truphone, Skype to offer VOIP services in Germany.

However, there is a news that Deutsche Telekom is considering to lift the ban on Voice-over-IP (VoIP) applications on its German wireless network, but will instead introduce a surcharge for the service. Reports say that Deutsche Telekom customers wishing to use VoIP services such as Skype will have to pay a fee starting at EUR9.95 (USD14.16) a month.

It's clearly the revenue loss on their mobile networks is hurting them and all DT wants is a fair share of this new communication medium one way or the other.

The same scenario is there in UAE where most telecom/ISP operators work very closely with Government and are clearly against the use of VOIP. We also covered the news regarding the Etislat VOIP Blockage. Afterall they don't want to loose on easy money. VOIP would clearly make their service look stupid in both quality and price. VOIP at times can be free or atleast 50-90% cheaper than PSTN/Mobile telephony.

I won't be surprised to see more mobile telecom operators around the world opposing usage of VOIP in respective countries.

Now, If you live in Germany would you mind paying $14.16 per month to use VOIP? Let us know.

MyVoipTraffic WholeSale VOIP Carrier Service

Although we already have some of the lowest VOIP calling rates by Betamax, there is still a need for wholesale VOIP service for large businesses or telecom companies who resell VOIP Phone services to consumers like us.

The VOIP calling price are actually determined based on the wholesale rates the carrier can offer to the VOIP Provider and the VOIP Provider can then add some commission to the base price and offer you a competitive VOIP rate for certain destination.

Now why would businesses buy minutes off a carrier than just use VOIP Providers such as actionvoip, smartvoip? The answer is most of the VOIP Provider has retail base so they have certain restrictions over usage of minutes like betamax typically allows only 300 minutes per week of free usage etc. Excessive usage sometimes trigger account blocks. To avoid the FUP of a retail customer, Business VOIP customers must go for a wholesale termination.

MyVOIPtraffic offers competitive rates to many destinations around the world.

MyVOIPTraffic SIP details:

Username: Your myvoiptraffic username
Password: Your password
SIP/Proxy registrar: sip.myvoiptraffic.com
Domain/Realm (optional): myvoiptraffic.com
STUN server: stun.myvoiptraffic.com

MyVOIPTraffic supports following codecs:
G.711 (64 kbps)
G.726 (32 kbps)
G.729 (8 kbps)
G.723 (5.3 & 6.3 kbps)
GSMFR (13 kbps)
iLBC (20ms & 30ms)

As always, most telecom carries will offer you a grey route, standard route and premium route. Grey routes are often cheaper than other routes but offer inferior voice quality.

Many Free VOIP providers who claim to offer free international calls offer grey routes to save money on free voip calls.

If you are a business who wants a cheap VOIP carrier or a VOIP Provider who wants cheap termination, MyVOIPTraffic is worth a look.

BSNL to offer Free 3G Video Calling for 3 Months

3G is becoming a popular word in Telecom industry in India. With VOIP is on the verge of reforms,3G is the next big market for India. BSNL, a large telecom operator wants to give private telecom operators like bharti, vodafone a run for its money by giving away 3 months of Video Calling FREE.

If you own one of the latest mobile handsets and have BSNL service then you can receive free 3g video calls. However the biggest catch is its only free to receive a video call and not to make it :-) The good old sneaky way of giving freebies in India.

No BSNL is hoping that more users use Video calling feature. Well, Its highly unlikely to become a standard very soon but will eventually be a part of everyday usage.

A good addition to the existing 3G service will be of course the ability to use a Video Conference Calls Service with 3 or more participants in the call.

I know many Indians are excited to use 3G to use Free VOIP services coz VOIP over 3G would be lot faster than GPRS, however you must note that 3G is often costlier than GPRS and definately costlier than a better broadband option Wifi.

The best way to use VOIP is actually through wifi. You can setup a Wifi at your home for making free voip calls when you are home.

VOIP on the other hand becoming a joke with SIP calls being charged in India since they also attract service taxes lol. I believe if India needs massive reforms in Telecom, they need get over the service tax era and let SIP/VOIP services roam free.

Are you a BSNL customer? will you use 3G? will you use 3G for VOIP?
